Even in the monotony and uncertainty of COVID-19, our couples still know how to have a blast! Kaylee and Thomas wanted a beautiful garden engagement session and the WRAL Azalea gardens were the absolute perfect backdrop even on a cloudy day! The WRAL gardens are a hidden gem that not too many people visit as they are on the smaller side and there are other better known gardens in the area, so we had the entire area to ourselves on a cloudy and warm afternoon. After hanging out among the beautiful greenery we headed over to the North Carolina Museum of Art for some more fun!
Kaylee and Thomas met through Bumble and had their first date at the Raleigh Beer Garden where the conversation just flowed and they may have gotten a bit competitive while playing cornhole. They were both on the edge of their profiles which is such a coincidence and Kaylee shared how she thought it was fate bringing them together! Well their first date turned into more and after 2 years of board games, exploring both the wilderness and new towns, and several nights chilling on the couch with Netflix and doggy snuggles, these two got engaged! Thomas surprised Kaylee with flower petals leading from her office downstairs to where he was waiting in a suit to ask her to be his lifelong companion – how sweet is that?!?! Funny story though Thomas actually wanted to propose a week earlier but Kaylee decided to take the following week off instead and was dressed in some regular old gym shorts and a t-shirt!
We had such an amazing time watching these two just playfully interacting with one another and seeing how easily they laugh together! They were ready to bring on the snuggles in the WRAL gardens but then break out the jokes and jumps in the more open atmosphere at the art museum for their engagement session. We’re so stoked for their upcoming wedding at The Oaks at Salem in just a few short months!!
So as we were about to leave for another location I got distracted by this giant bush with the most beautiful light green leaves and just HAD to stop for a few more photos….
I mean really, look at all of the texture and creamy green!! It created the perfect backdrop for getting some real dimension in the background. And yes, they totally had a tickle fight!!
Once I got over the beautiful green bush, we headed over the the North Carolina Museum of Art to finish up their session! I absolutely love this location because of these bushes on the sidewalk – they just create a great backdrop for sitting photos that make you look like you’re just in a field all by yourself…. but you’re actually 5 steps away from the parking lot! Plus I’m able to actually be taller than couples when they sit down – HAHA!
