We met up with Christine + Mark at the State Capitol Building in downtown Raleigh for their engagement session on a rainy afternoon. We contemplated moving their session to get some sun, but they decided to push through with the cutest bubble umbrellas. Every milestone in their relationship together has been marked by rain so far, so they decided to embrace the weather and still have a great time!

These two had their first date at Carolina Ale House for some drinks and appetizers. Even though Christine teased Mark for eating cheese fries with a fork, they’ve been inseparable ever since. Honestly their first date is so them! They both love hanging around downtown, walking around, and trying new restaurants. One of their favorite activities is to go to breweries and try all of the weird sounding beers together. When they’re looking for a quieter evening though, they love to put on a good reality TV show like Survivor.

We laughed and joked together as we all walked around downtown Raleigh for their rainy engagement session. They were so playful and fun together, with plenty of laughter throughout their session. Mark is full of jokes and he Christine out of her shell. You can just see how relaxed and comfortable they are together in their photos! One of my favorite parts of their session though was their dip in front of Fayetville Street! We’ve seen some impressive dips before, but Mark got LOW!! Seriously, wait until you see that image! Christine shared with us later that Mark now says to her “You’re gonna need some chips for that dip” whenever they look at it ????

After their session, we all went to Tonbo Ramen for dinner. Christine recommended the most refreshing cocktail and we all just chatted about life and their upcoming wedding over some delicious ramen! We were all having such a good time we decided to go to Bittersweet for dessert before we turned into pumpkins at 9pm!
